AlMohtaraf Participates in Design Week in Sharjah

Represented by its Director of Design in the Beirut Office, Yara Khoury Nammour, AlMohtaraf participated in the annual Design Week held by the Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah.
The participation was split in two. The first was a specialized workshop on 3d Arabic typography set up for the students, drawing on Yara’s recent participation with Khatt foundation in the Netherlands with a team of architects and designers to develop new Arabic 3d typefaces. The second part was a seminar she gave about the Al Mohtaraf’s Arabic type design activity in the past 20 years.
Design Week lasted 5 days from March 19 till March 24, 2011 and included specialized workshops, demoes, presentations, workshops, critique, panel discussions, and lectures on the work of eminent specialists and academics in the field of architecture, art, design, and concluded with an exhibition of the students’ projects.
